The Oaknook Refillable Pocket Binder is a small leather binder holding kraft paper on rings, so pages come out and go back in rather than the book filling up and being replaced. Finished pages can be filed elsewhere and blank ones added without starting a new cover. A bound notebook is finished when the last page is used, regardless of how much of it was worth keeping, and most of them are not full of keepers.
At 14 by 10cm it goes into a coat pocket rather than requiring a bag, which is the size at which a notebook actually gets carried and used rather than left at home. Small enough to hold in one hand while writing standing up. Ring binding separates the two, letting the good pages be filed and the rest be discarded, without the cover being part of that decision.
Refills swap in a few seconds on the ring binding, which makes the cover the thing you keep and the paper the thing you use up. Over a few years that works out considerably cheaper and less wasteful than replacing a bound notebook each time one runs out. Kraft paper takes pencil and ballpoint well and has a slight tooth that suits quick notes, though it is less suited to heavy fountain pen ink.
