The Oaknook Metal Candle Lantern is a small openwork frame that a tealight sits inside. Once the candle is lit, the cut pattern throws light across the wall behind it, and that projected pattern is most of the reason to own one. Unlit, it still reads as a considered object on a shelf. The pattern the lantern casts changes with the distance from the wall, so moving it a few centimetres closer or further alters the whole effect.
A loop at the top means it hangs from a hook or a shelf edge as readily as it stands on a surface, so the same lantern works over a desk, along a mantel or outside a door on a still evening. Metal rather than glass, so it survives being moved around and knocked. Because it can hang as well as stand, it works in places a candle usually cannot go, such as a shelf edge, a beam, or a hook by a door.
Standard tealights drop straight in, with no adapter or special size required. Take the usual care with open flame. Keep it clear of curtains and anything that can catch, let the metal cool before moving it, and never leave a lit candle unattended or burning overnight. Metal does get hot in use, so allow it to cool fully before relocating it, and set it on a heat tolerant surface rather than directly on bare wood.
