Product Information
The Oaknook Desktop Shelf Unit is a wood and steel shelf that stands on the desk rather than on the floor, lifting books, files and reference material off the surface you are actually trying to work on. It adds storage without adding floor footprint to a room. Books stored flat on a desk take the space of the book plus the space around it, whereas books on a shelf take the space of the book alone.
One tier or two, in two widths, so it can sit along the back edge of a small desk or run most of the length of a larger one. The two tier version clears enough height underneath for a row of books, while the single tier keeps sightlines to a monitor open. Lifting reference material to shelf height also keeps it readable at a glance, which is the whole reason for keeping it out rather than filed away.
Wood shelves on a steel frame gives it rigidity at a lower weight than solid construction would, so a full shelf does not sag over time. It stands free with no wall fixing required. Assembly is required and is straightforward with the fittings supplied. The steel frame keeps the profile thin, so the shelf occupies noticeably less depth than a solid timber unit of the same capacity would.
